Assignment：Which quality do you believe is the most useful during times of difficulty? In an essay, support your position by discussing an example (or examples) from literature, the arts, science and technology, history, current events, or your own experience or observation.

So far as quality is concerned, especially the most useful one during times of difficulty, in my view, self-confidence, or rather, unbending in struggle is the one that deals with any problems or difficulties. My own experience through times of hardship is the typical example here:
I used to be armyman 30 years ago, say, a major, when I demobilized from the Army to my hometown, Wuxi in 1992, everything changed, no house, no ideal job, no trustable friend, thus, I really went through the hardest times in my life, I had to begin a new life, I had to rebegin my career since the civilian work is quite different from what I did in the Army. However, unbending in struggle was the motto I often learnt by heart. Therefore, I displayed such a spirit which I learnt from the Army, and survived in fierce competition, and became a qualified trade man in Import & Export Co.
Another example is that I ran an IELTS Training Center In Wuxi, my hometown in 2000. As you know, there were no competent teachers, then, no satisfied teaching materials and facilities as well. It was the unbending in struggle that encouraged me, I began to teach my students by myself with the revised books I wrote, in fact, it did work. Hence, the first school of IELTS Training in my city was established in my hands. In this case, I began to realize that I would encounter/ face lot of difficulties in my future life, yet, the spirit of unbending in the struggle should not be neglected, only in this way can help me to overcome any hardship or troubles whenever & wherever I meet in my whole life.

From the above mentioned, I suppose, smiling at difficulties or unbending in struggle may help me to go through the times of difficulty.
